Turborilla, one of Sweden’s leading independent game studios, responsible for the Mad Skills games, is currently offer thesis work within the area of physics programming.
Investigate whether a commercial physics engine performs as well as an in-house solution
Are you studying IT/Computing and are about to write your essay during spring 2020? Are you interested in working with simulations and game development? If so, consider applying to work with our Turborilla crew on this fascinating project.
You are keen to try different approaches to solve complex problems. You have the ability to gather information from colleagues and the internet without direction. It’s vital that you have an analytical mind, and are careful and persistent. To be able to tackle and communicate this task with enjoyment, you need to have a good understanding of Newtonian mechanics. We would appreciate if you have Unity 3D and C# experience as well, but that is not mandatory.

We always find time to share thoughts and ideas here at Turborilla. This is an exciting open door for a person who is interested in making games.
The Project is to investigate whether we can use a commercial tool to simulate the motion of a vehicle in one of our upcoming games. More specifically you will use Unity 3D and its physics engine PhysX to create a number of demos where a vehicle is controlled in a sidescroller game. These demos will then help us to understand if the in-house solution may be replaced with PhysX, while preserving the performance and feeling of the game.
